In January, Global News’ Chris Jancelewicz reported the news of the sitcom revival from the 2017 Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour in Los Angeles.

“Journalists at TCA were audibly surprised when NBC brass announced beloved TV sitcom Will & Grace would be returning to the network after 11 years off the air,” Jancelewicz said, describing the atmosphere of the room when the announcement was made. “Hushed gasps of joy could be heard throughout the ballroom where NBC presented their upcoming TV slate.”

“We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said at TCA. “This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs.”
