Inspired by the success of the local Rose of Hope golf tournament and its phenomenal contributions towards breast cancer care in the region, our men’s golf tournament, Power of Hope, is celebrating its second year.
The Power of Hope golf tournament, for prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment is raising funds, awareness and hope for men’s health in our region. Mike Laframboise, Power of Hope event organizer, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019.
“During my remarkable care, I was shocked to hear that our hospitals rely heavily on donations to buy equipment,” says Mike. “Having experienced first-hand the huge impact that local philanthropy can have, I felt compelled to make a difference in my community. The event is going to be a special day, and we are really excited about it. We are very appreciative of the support we are receiving. We have a full field of golfers and have had many donations and sponsorships to date. We are hoping to exceed last year’s results which were just over $100,000. All the money raised goes to UHKF to support the fight against prostate cancer. Kingston is such a generous community!”
The Power of Hope golf tournament kicks off with registration at 11:00 a.m., with the
shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
