The Cantabile Choirs of Kingston’s annual holiday concerts

For 24 years, The Cantabile Choirs of Kingston’s annual holiday concerts have delighted audiences, and have become a treasured musical tradition for many families in eastern Ontario. This year’s holiday concerts entitled Wings of Angels will be presented at The Spire on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 and Sat. Dec. 21, at 2:00 and 7:30. Cantabile’s children, teen and adult choristers and guest instrumentalists present an imaginative program ranging from heart-warming carols, nostalgic winter songs to thrilling world music.

The evening performances offer audiences a magical atmosphere enhanced by candlelight. Cantabile audiences, surrounded by the thrilling sounds of 250 children, teens and adult choristers, will have the opportunity to join in the great carols of the season. The matinee, which includes Cantabile’s Medio choir (ages 8-9), is a more light-hearted atmosphere suitable for young families.

Founding Artistic Director, Dr. Mark Sirett, who directs the choirs for his final season, will be joined by Artistic Director designate, Geoffrey Sirett. The singers will be accompanied by some of Kingston’s finest musicians: Clare Miller Piano, Michel Szczesniak Piano, Leslie Casson Percussion, Paul Clifford Bass, Gisele Dalbec-Szczesniak Violin, Bill Egnatoff Flute, Julie Paul Oboe and Scott Milligan Organ.

Tickets are selling quickly for all three performances and are available at cantabilechoirs.ca, Novel Idea and Arden’s Music.
