Shred-A-Thon to Raise Funds for Special Olympics

Don’t let your trash become an identity thief’s treasure. Kingston Police in partnership with Iron Mountain and the Cataraqui Centre is welcoming residents of Kingston to safely and securely dispose of their household documents at the Community Shred-A-Thon on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in an effort to raise funds for Special Olympics Ontario.

Community members are invited to disposes of simply unwanted paper or sensitive material that is best to be avoided for recycling by traditional means, including tax or governments documents, receipts, banking and credit card statements, school or work records, and more.

This year’s event will be held at the Cataraqui Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the north parking lot section across from the Bank of Montreal (BMO).

All services offered by Iron Mountain are by donation to raise funds for the Special Olympics 2020 School Championships being held in Kingston June 2-4, 2020 and hosted by Kingston Police. The suggested donation for recycling papers is $10 a banker’s box.
