Walk Off The Earth

The multi-platinum musical genius Walk Off The Earth is making it big this 2024. Amidst a new year in music, the band is taking its decade-long history of hits and viral tunes back to the live stage. The previous year saw the rise of the band’s record-breaking hit single “My Stupid Heart”, taking TikTok by storm with 1 million weekly streams and over 1 billion YouTube views, alongside 275 million views on TikTok.

Now, the Canadian indie pop group is taking their astounding sonic masterpieces on a series of shows, including this special performance at Budweiser Stage on June 1st. Kicking off the summer season, the band is cooling down the stage, definitely bound to impress with their alluring live performances.

Formed in 2006 and going viral in 2012 for their live cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” on YouTube, the band has come a long way. Signing with Columbia Records in 2012, the one-guitar ensemble became a musical marvel around the world. The band also dropped viral covers of mainstream hits including “Rude” by Magic!, “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, “Payphone” by Maroon 5, “Hello” by Adele, and many more.

Today, WALK OFF THE EARTH continues to impress, dropping a slew of originals and even more covers that make rounds on TikTok and Instagram Reels. In 2023, they released their biggest hit yet – “My Stupid Heart”.

“Our song ‘My Stupid Heart’ is about naively jumping back into a past relationship thinking things will be different this time around,” the band shared in an official statement. “Your desire is to feel a sense of familiarity and comfort but it’s ripped away as you are quickly reminded why you left the relationship in the first place. We’ve all been there, and we want this song to be an anthem for those that are all too familiar with the feeling of having a stupid heart.”

The band then followed-up the highly successful single with another hard-hitting track, “Whatever”. The heartfelt track shares tales about living life and making the most out of every moment with whom you love. “The lyrics reflect a longing to break free from the mundane routine and live in the present. Taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone can be a daunting task to tackle solo, but with the right person these things can spark joy in its purest form,” Sarah Blackwood shared.

The band’s chemistry sure is infectious! Over a decade since they strummed their massive guitar to global acclaim, they remain steadfast and committed to musical growth and pursuing music that connects people around the world. Driven by Gianni, Sarah, and Joel’s inspiring creativity and remarkable talent, they definitely aren’t walking off the earth anytime soon… It’s their music that goes beyond worlds.
