We are beyond excited to announce the Inclusive Play Project’s next community event!
On June 8th, 2024 from 10 am – 3 pm we invite you to the IPP Inclusive Fun Fair at Shannon Park, directly across from the Rideau Heights Community Centre.
This event will feature over 30 agencies that work within the special needs community, and are already champions when it comes to advocating for inclusive play and recreation here in Kingston. Each agency will be hosting a fun fair game for families/kids to enjoy. We will also be showcasing a wheelchair basketball demonstration, and you can learn a super cool adaptive sport called Mini Stock.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! We will have a Kids Zone with many free activities for families (think giant inflatables, fun fair games and a magic show), as well as a cash BBQ with all proceeds going towards the IPP. There will also be a fabulous vendor market with local artisans selling their products if you want to fit in a little shopping. Not to mention a few other surprises that we don’t want to share with you just yet…
This event is going to be fun for the whole family, but it is also an amazing opportunity to learn about the new playground IPP is fundraising for. Our ultimate goal is to educate the community on why inclusive play is important, and why we need more inclusive community spaces here in Kingston.
So, please mark your calendar for June 8th and invite all your friends and family. We can’t wait to see you there!
Because playgrounds should be for everyone!
