Swim For Kids

The Major-Gingras family is swimming to support kids with physical
disabilities and hopes you’ll join them to help fund programs in our community.

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Easter Seals Ontario and the YMCA of Eastern Ontario, Kingston will host 1.5
km and 3 km open-water swims at the 3rd Annual Swim for Kids in beautiful Lake Ontario Park, 920 King
St. West from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The swim is open to swimmers of all abilities, aged 12 and up and provides a healthy way to enjoy friendly competition while supporting programs that help children with physical disabilities grow their confidence
and reach their full potentials. Participants will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments,
receive awards, prizes, and recognition for their swimming and fundraising efforts. They will meet
ambassadors from the YMCA of Eastern Ontario-Kingston and Easter Seals Ontario at the post-swim
breakfast and awards ceremony. There will also be complimentary massage on-site for participants to
enjoy.

This year, a new family swim is available, so families can participate in the 1.5 km swim together. Families
may opt to fundraise together to be eligible for the Top Family Fundraising prize.

Registration fee is $45 until July 19 but swimmers can waive the registration fee if they fundraise a
minimum of $250 in support of kids with physical disabilities.

The 2019 Swim for Kids is made possible through the generous support of local sponsors including Mac
Voisin and Marcela Bahar, Subaru of Kingston, McDonalds Canada, Bathworks, and Dorey and Tolgyesi
Insurance Brokers LTD.

Generous donors have given over $10,000 worth of prizes available for fundraisers to win. The top four
prizes are: a $2,000 VIA Rail voucher with $1,000 in pre-paid credit cards, a trip to Montreal with an
overnight stay at Place D’Arms from Merit Travel, a 13-ft Inuvit Kayak from ClearWater Design, and
a mountain bike has been donated by Sports Chek and Chris Carvalho with The Mortgage Professionals.
Several other packages are valued at $250 and up!
